August 16, 2013  –  Baby Rapp 12 Weeks
Our NT scan was done at Mercy Hospital. It was the coolest experience of my life so far. We were able to see the baby so clearly and hear the heartbeat for the first time. The baby was squirming all around and changing positions really frequently. We got to spend about a half an hour with our little one and a very patient sonographer.  I wish I had one of these machines at home!

S/he is already shielding their face from the camera. Is this going to be payback for one red-headed child’s inability to be cooperative in any photo taking situation?

Fortune Cookies

Me, Mom, Lauren and Katie had our monthly dinner and movie night. It was my turn to host.  After a Thai, Japanese and Chinese meal, I decided to sneak our big surprise into the fortune cookies. I printed up some fake fortunes and slipped them into the cookies ahead of time. It took them a few minutes but eventually they put it all together.

Kristen’s fortune   “Good things come in small bundles”
(Katie is the only one to hear this, she gives me a questioning face)

Mom’s fortune  “Be alert! You’re about to make a new lifelong friend”
(Katie is on to me. She smiles and keeps her mouth shut. Lauren starts squealing that Mom is going to get a puppy. Me and Katie are dying)

Lauren’s fortune “Now is the time to congratulate a family member”

(Lauren drops her cookie and fortune on the ground and tells me Clemmie ate them. She did not thank goodness. After handing them to her, she starts asking everyone what they have to be congratulated on. Still no idea.)

Katie’s fortune  “An important person will be pushed into your life come February”

I repeat mine, Katie repeats hers  AAAAAAHHHHHAAAA they’ve got it!!
