She’s getting big too fast. I love how little she is sitting in our bed watching Mickey Mouse Clubhouse without a care in the world. Our sweet Madeline.

Eating with a toddler.
Is my favorite time of the day. Good conversation. Funny faces. Singing songs.

If I sit really still and maintain eye contact, maybe they will not notice I am feeding Lucas my apple……
Snowmageddon. The Blizzard of 2016
We got 23.5 inches of snow over the past day and Maddie is loving it. Dan is not. Lots of digging, but some playing too. Maddie was “helping” her daddy dig out the cars.

WILD AND FREE TWENTY-THREE

MADELINE AT TWENTY-THREE MONTHS
Maddie is has been wild lately. She like to call us “Little Mommy” and “Little Daddy.” We call her Wild Thing like Max from Where the Wild things Are. She says, “Not a wild thing! A girl!” She loves for her Daddy to sing the old song Wild Thing and pretend to play guitar. She especially loves the part where we say, “Groovy!” It cracks her up every time.
She’s become quite bossy lately and likes to shout and make demands. She went through a small sleep regression after reading Llama llama red pajama. In the book the baby llama shouts for his Mama when he should be sleeping. Now Maddie falls asleep yelling “Where’s my Momma?” “Where’s my Daddy?” and we wake up to more of the same. We had to stop reading Llama llama Red Pajama.
Maddie enjoys playing with laundry. The basket, the clothes, destroying neatly folded piles. It’s all so much fun.

Swim Lessons
Maddie is still enjoying her swim lessons at Kids First Swim School. She will jump off of the ledge into Daddy’s arms and climb back out with some assistance. She doesn’t love to float on her back, but we work on it every class. She likes to play with the duckies they have in class but does not like to give them back at the end. We resorted to bringing our own duckies to avoid after class duckie meltdown.

Outside Time

*Ringing in 2016*
Maddie got to attend her first New Year’s Eve party at the Milne’s house! A big group of us all brought our kiddos and had a slumber party to ring in the new year. All the kiddos played and the adults got to enjoy a few games of their own. Fun was had by all.

Maddie’s First Visit to the National Aquarium in Baltimore

Here Comes Santa Claus… it’s Christmas Day!
We had a little Christmas morning at our house where Maddie opened her gifts from us and then headed over to Gaga’s for Christmas breakfast and gifts. We all got stockings and Maddie got spoiled. A little later we headed over to Aunt Nancy and Uncle Chuck’s house to have a lovely Christmas lunch where we got to catch up with everyone. We had one sleepy reindeer by the Christmas night!
