The Time We Almost Lost Snoodle

While Mommy and Maddie walked around the zoo for a few hours, Snoodle had an adventure all his own. After escaping from the car in the fury of zoo entrance preparation, a kind stranger who witnessed his escape placed him safely back on top of the the car where he sat, perched watching the other families come and go. Maddie was delighted when she saw him waiting for us as we were ready to leave and Mommy felt horrible about the near loss of our good friend. We promptly went home and wrote our phone number on Snoodle’s tag and made the vow to track down a back-up juuuuust incase we would ever be faced with a true Snoodle emergency in the future.

Rehoboth Beach 2015

Madeline had a great time in Rehoboth with Nana, Poppo, Aunt Michelle, and her cousins. She loved running around the beach house and swimming in the pool. At the beach she liked putting sand and water in the sand pails and splashing in the ocean with Daddy. When the tide would pull the water out, she would tell it to “Come Back!”

She liked running in the sand and on the boardwalk and pointing out all of the birds and lights. She was a bit of an early bird while we were there, so we had great early morning adventures where we would go out on walks when the beach and town were very quiet. She went to a few restaurants and was such a good girl at each. Grotto was her favorite, since she came away with a big pink balloon. She also discovered her love of lemons there.

We took her on her first ride ever, the carousel at Funland. She sat on the horse and Mommy and Daddy stood on either side. We also took Maddie on the little train ride and she loved it. She did not want to get off and started crying when the ride was over. Both times we rode it. She played the little fishing game and duckie pick up game on our way out and won 2 prizes.

Thanks to Nana and Poppo for the wonderful vacation.

Seventeen Months

Maddie_Month17MADELINE AT SEVENTEEN MONTHS

Weight: Heavy   Height: 32 in.
Eyes: Blue    Hair: Cinnamon

Highlights from her seventeenth month:
June 19th – Says Grandmum for the first time (still mostly calles her Gaga though)
June 20th – Says “Humpty Dumpty Sat On a Wall”
July 5th –  Maddie started counting from 1-10 on her own. She had been counting with some nudging, but while sitting on the patio at the zoo, Maddie started counting all of the patio umbrellas by herself. She counted all the way up to 10.

Madeline is chatting quite a bit these days. She is regularly putting 2-3 words together and can communicate what she wants 90% of the time. There are very few words we don’t understand. She will attempt to parrot everything! Maddie loves playing Ring Around the Rosie and The Hokie Pokie and dances to Let It Go and the Mickey Mouse Club’s Hot Dog Dance. She likes to sing The Itsy Bitsy Spider and Somewhere Over the Rainbow. She sings loudly …”someWHHEERRRE over rainbow.” It’s also her favorite video to watch on our phones. She currently likes the Judy Garland version.

Maddie will say cheers and “clink” her bottle to your glass during meals. Breakfast is still her favorite, still going strong on her love of eggs and eggos.

Snoodle update: Maddie is still crazy for Snoodle. She sleeps with him every night and now wants him to come with her when she moves around the house and goes over Gagas. We need to get a back-up Snoodle, he’s becoming very crucial.
