Madeline is still just an absolute little love bug. She’s very friendly with other kids and likes giving hugs and kisses. She lays her head against whatever she is “hugging” and says, “HUGGIES” with a big smile and then runs away. If you’re lucky, you get a big hug with her arms around you, her head on your shoulder and she’ll pat you on the back. Kisses are always more plentiful when she’s tired, but she also will give them out of the blue when she’s happy about something.
Maddie is running all around now. With a blink she’s taking off. She moves quick and is more sure of herself. During walks, she will still hold your hand and she usually holds a flower or a rock in the other hand. She’s been testing her climbing skills lately as well. She’s very good sitting in her Radio Flyer red wagon and is able to independently get on and off of her little rocking chair at Grandmum’s, her Doc Mobile and Snuffy her rocking dinosaur.
She loves swimming in her baby pool and splashing at her water table. She was a water bug in Sarah & Brian’s pool and likes trying to blow bubbles in the water. She’s learning not to swallow the water. This is a lesson we are especially enforcing in the bathtub. Ew.
Madeline will repeat just about any word you throw at her these days. She’s been putting a few words together as well. Most notably “Humpty Dumpty”, “Let it Go” (from the movie Frozen) and “Go Away.” She tells the ants on Gaga’s porch to “go away!” She has amazed us with her memory. We have started playing a game where we will sing or read her something and leave off the last word for her to fill in. She constantly surprises us with how much she knows!
She is crazy about Snoodle her moppy looking stuffed bunny and wants to cuddle with him every night. We read a ton of books each night before bed. Some favorites include: Otto’s ABCs, Pat the Bunny, Sleepytime Elmo, Goodnight Moon, Sniff and On the Night You Were Born.
Loves:
Doing the “Hot Dog Dance” (from Mickey Mouse Club), Dancing to “Let it Go” (complete with princess arms in the air) and twirling around doing the “Hokey Pokey.”
Breakfast. She LOVES Eggos, Eggs, Rice Krispies and Packets. She can be heard in her monitor each morning telling us what she wants to eat for breakfast. She also enjoys snacking on crackers, yogurt and fruit.
Her Disney princess castle at Gaga’s. Her 7 Dwarfs and Bert and Ernie.
Songs/rhymes she likes to sing:
Pattycake, Humpty Dumpty, Itsy Bitsy Spider, Little Red Wagon, My Girl, Its a Small World, ABC’s, Bug on a Wall, Mary Had a Little Lamb, Three Little Birds and Row Your Boat.
