MADELINE AT ONE YEAR

Highlights from her twelfth month:
Says Rapp for the first time  – 1/24
Had a couple bites of cake (no icing) – 1/24

Had Croup for the first time 😦  – 2/11

Maddie waves like crazy. She has quite a few waves. She waves outward with just her fingers, she waves inward with just her fingers, she has an all-wrist princess wave, and a really big armed fanatic wave. She has even started waving if you mention the microwave.

She’s holding on to edges and walking herself around. She’s a speedy crawler and shows extreme interest in pulling herself up on things in an attempt to climb. She’s learning to go down two steps with her booty first. Still working on it.

She likes hugging people and toys. She’ll give you a kiss on demand, but when she’s really tired she might try to give you kiss after kiss after kiss. Open mouth of course. She points to herself when you say Madeline. Speaking of pointing, one of her favorite things to do is looking at pictures and pointing out the people in them when you say their names. She also loves playing “Where? Where?” She usually hides something and and asks “where?” You pretend you can’t find it (even though it’s usually still in plain sight) and then she finds it. Over and over.

She really does not like dirt. She likes finding every speck of fuzz or anything at all and picks it up, announces “DIRT!” and hands it to whoever is nearby. She is a little obsessed with dirt right now.

She has her 6th tooth – top left next to her two middle teeth.

She’s eating pretty much everything now. She hasn’t had peanut butter or honey, but has tried mostly everything else that Mommy, Daddy or Grandmum is eating.
