Quiet Moments
Maddie’s First Christmas

We had a great time Christmas morning at Grandmum’s house. Maddie got to open her first ever stocking and loved all of her wonderful gifts. She had a great time playing with her new toys and the paper and the bags they came in too! After a nice nap we visited Aunt Nancy’s house to see Mommy’s aunts, uncles and cousins. While we were there, Maddie got to meet her newest cousin, baby Charlotte!
Madeline’s First Chanukah
Madeline’s first Chanukah was kicked off in glorious fashion…first with the lighting the Menorah which included an attempt at wearing a yamaka…
…and then with eating latkes – 100% homemade by mommy and 100% delicious!

Madeline loved the lakes, but someone kept trying to steal them…
She then was able to celebrate with all her cousins.

Madeline is pulling up on everything and wants to crawl up the stairs non-stop. She’s very strong and fearless. She can climb up 11 steps with someone behind her. She has also shown interest pulling up on the side of her crib. I think we might have an escape artist in the not so distant future.
Maddie loves to eat. She had turkey, cranberries and mashed potatoes for Thanksgiving. She’s also been eating waffles, chicken and yogurt drops. When she’s not eating in the kitchen, she’s playing on the floor with empty Tupperware containers and boxes that hold Ziplock snack baggies.
She loves sticking out her tongue and mimicking coughs and yawns. She is making a lot of funny noises and babbles quite a bit. Her favorite noise is the “tick-tock” noise in the Frozen song, Do You Wanna Build a Snowman. She waits for it and clicks her tongue along with the clock noise. She really enjoys books and reading together. She’s mastered clapping and claps along with the If You’re Happy and You Know It song.
Bath time is really fun these days. Madeline loves getting baths and crawls from her room to the bathroom and pulls up on the side of the tub, ready to jump in. She loves splashing and kicking the water. When Maddie is happy these days, she smiles really wide, showing off her teeth. Every once in awhile, when something makes her really really happy, she squints her eyes while she grins really wide. It’s probably the cutest thing in the whole world. She giggles when playing games and being silly. She still loves looking at pictures. The pictures that have her in them are still her favorites! She has really taken to routines where she says hi to certain things around our home and at Grandmum’s house.
