We hosted our first Thanksgiving dinner this year. Family all gathered to watch Madeline try turkey and mashed potatoes for the first time. We have so much to be thankful for and loved being able to host.

We had a great time in Washington D.C. on our first family vacation. We visited the Museum of Natural History where Maddie went into a butterfly garden for the first time. All of her practice looking at butterflies in Grandmum’s yard paid off. She watched all of them and didn’t attempt to grab any of them. We walked all around D.C. and enjoyed the beautiful fall weather. We saw the White House exterior, the Washington Monument and the Lincoln, World War II, Korean War and Vietnam War Memorials. We visited the Museum of American History and the Air and Space Museum, where we enjoyed a planetarium show hosted by Elmo and Big Bird.

Maddie has started babbling a lot, especially during meal times. She’s making a lot of bababa noises. She’s started eating chickpeas, quinoa, mum-mum teething biscuits and puffs. She is working on getting them in her mouth herself. She loves holding a sippy cup, but is still getting the hang of drinking from it.
