Josh, Lauryn, Lys and baby Emmy came to visit the Rapp household this Sunday. While a 9 and 11 week old don’t have a lot to talk about now… we’re sure that they’ll have plenty to talk about when they are roommates at Syracuse in 18 years. For now we just stood by and watched Lys show us what a good big sister looks like, and after a test-drive I think we got her stamp of approval on the nursery! Looking forward to the next visit.

Maddie had lots of feelings about her two month old photoshoot. Here’s a sample of 10 minutes with Maddie Dot….

Maddie went to visit Great Nana before heading to Grandmum’s house for Easter festivities with Aunt Katie, Jon and Poppy. Maddie was excited to play with her new swing and rock-n-play that now live at Grandmum’s house. Too young for an Easter basket, she got spoiled by Aunt Katie and Grandmum with some fun new clothes for summer. Grandmum had an Easter game of epic proportion up her sleeve this year. She created 100 card memory featuring her favorite things! Aunt Katie was the winner (by far…) and I’m still wondering where the other turkey card was located?!?!? Fun for all.

We went to Nana and Poppo’s house today so that Maddie could meet Uncle Howie, Micah, Jaden and Lena. We missed Aunt Patrice and cousin Veronica, and look forward to seeing them next time.

Maria and Aubrey came over to hang out today. While the adults had a home cooked meal, the babies got stationed next to each other and it was super obvious that they love each other and will be best friends forever. Aubrey was super chill and liked playing coy with her bib. Love this little girl!

And Grandmum’s too! We traveled to Nana and Poppo’s for Seder dinner and Maddie got to find out why this night is different from all other nights.

Maddie got to meet some of her neighbors today. Ghia, Kyra and Arianna stopped by to meet the littlest Rapp. They so generously gave us 1 year old Belle’s newborn clothes when she outgrew them. (see previous post SO MANY CLOTHES!!!) She slept through most of her meet and greet, but looked cute while doing so. We look forward to many years of our daughters growing up together. It’s so nice to have such great neighbors and a play group so close.

MADELINE AT TWO MONTHS

Maddie had a bunch of firsts in her second month in this world:
Gone on two field trips out of the house (3/16-Great Nana’s;  4/5-Grandmum’s)
First time wearing shoes (3/24)
She had her first day of face recognition with smiles (4/1)
First bath without tears (4/7)
First stuffy nose (4/8)

Maddie parrots noises, babbles and squeals. She babbles in her bassinet before and after sleeping and she likes sleeping with her arms straight over her head. We think she’s trying to suck her thumb, but just keeps putting her whole hand in her mouth when she’s upset or hungry. The longest she’s gone between feedings is 3.5 hours. She’s starting to like her music play mat from Aunt Katie. She plays the piano with her feet and looks at the baby in the mirror. She still loves to look at lights and shadows. She is sleeping on mom and dad’s chest less often and usually pushes her legs down and tries to stand up.

Nana is back from Japan and was eager to see Madeline so the Rapps stopped by for lunch and a vist. Madeline found out that in addition to her Poppo on her Rapp side she now has an official Poppy on her Daniels side. The Pops combo were delighted to see how much Madeline has changed  including how smiley she has become.
